About

Dr. Paul Moses, PhD, SMIEEE

Dr. Moses is actively engaged in research spanning renewable energy systems integration, resiliency in smart grids, chaotic and dynamical electromagnetic transient interactions, smart power protection, and the electrical insulation degradation of machinery operating in distorted electrical environments.

He earned a BS in Physics and a BEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering, both in 2006, and a PhD in Electrical Power Engineering from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia, in 2012. He began his career as an Electrical Engineer for the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), Australian Department of Defence, performing naval research and engineering support for combat systems aboard the Australian Collins Class Submarines at the Garden Island naval base in Western Australia.

He later relocated to the United States to join the faculty of the Frank Batten College of Engineering at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He now holds a tenured faculty position at the University of Oklahoma, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University's School of Engineering and Applied Science.

In 2023, Dr. Moses received the prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER award for his expertise in electromagnetic transient phenomena. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has published widely in his field.
