

Power quality in power systems, electrical machines and transformers
Paul Moses, PhD, SMIEEE is actively engaged in research in the following areas: renewable energy systems integration, enhancing resiliency in smart grids, chaotic and dynamical electromagnetic transient interactions, smart power protection and electrical insulation degradation of electrical machinery operating in distorted electrical environments.
Dr Paul Moses received his BS degree in Physics and BEng degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering both in 2006, and the PhD degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia, in 2012.
Dr Moses served as an Electrical Engineer for the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), Australian Department of Defence. He performed naval research and engineering support for combat systems for the Australian Collins Class Submarines at the naval base in Garden Island, Western Australia. He has served as a power systems specialist supporting several naval projects. Dr Moses relocated to the USA to take up an academic position at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia, serving as faculty in the Frank Batten College of Engineering. Dr Moses is a tenured faculty at The University of Oklahoma, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in the Norman, Oklahoma campus. He is an Adjunct Professor for George Washington University, School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Dr Moses is active in the professional engineering communities and has published several journal and conference articles in his field. In 2023, Dr Moses was awarded the prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER award for his expertise in electromagnetic transient phenomena. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).
